The Palms West Amateur Radio Club is a general interest, ARRL affiliated, not-for-profit organization. Some of our activities and projects are listed below:
- Host interesting speakers on technical and non-technical subjects at our regular meetings.
- We spearheaded the advancement of High Speed Multi-Media in Palm Beach County.
- We participate in the annual ARRL Field Day on the last full weekend in June. On a few occasions we made almost 1000 contacts!
- We hosted the Palm Beach County Ham Radio Festival for several years. Look for our Flea Market hopefully coming soon.
- We provide monthly free Laurel VEC ham radio testing. For more information on testing sessions, contact Charlie, WB2SNN – wb2snn@gmail.com
We also support ARES in many drills and activities. Palm Beach District Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES®)
- Our 147.045 repeater is designated as the central Palm Beach County prime ARES and Skywarn repeater.
- We also provide club mentors to assist members with license exam preparation, antenna installation, station set up and equipment repair.
- We operate club-sponsored repeaters at 147.045 – PL tone 110.9 and (Returning soon) 443.975, PL 110.9. The UHF repeater is being relocated to a new location and will return soon.
- We meet weekly at Hilary’s Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach every Saturday at roughly 8:30 AM for our Meet and Eat breakfast. Hilary’s is located Just North of Southern Blvd on Royal Palm Beach Blvd.
